Abstract
Renforcé par la crise du Covid-19, un besoin accru de nature a profondément changé notre rapport au jardin. Lieu de nature et de culture, le jardin est désormais principalement perçu comme un refuge de biodiversité. Le jardin patrimonial, qui cumule généralement les protections au titre de la culture et de la nature, se trouve au cœur d’enjeux qui peuvent sembler contradictoires : peut-on protéger le vivant et, par là même, le fixer, comme on le fait pour un monument historique ? Les concepteurs, architectes ou paysagistes sont parfois confrontés à des situations complexes. Cependant, par le projet, mais aussi par la gestion paysagère, patrimoine et écologie peuvent s’accorder pour que ces jardins anciens continuent à accueillir tous les vivants.
