Abstract
"Como é de se presumir, o diálogo entre cientistas da informação, cientistas da computação, filósofos e outros especialistas e as convenções sobre os termos de toda e qualquer discussão nem sempre são fáceis de atermar.A ideia original de reunir os estudos da ciência da informação, ciência da computação, filosofia e outras áreas sobre o tema informação ficou extremamente complexa, como devia de ser. Para tanto, foi recomendado separar o projeto em duas coletâneas: a primeira, intitulada “Estudos pluridisciplinares da informação: filosofia, tecnologia e semiótica” (Coleção Estudos em Ciência da Informação; 2) e a segunda, intitulada “Estudos pluridisciplinares da informação: ciência da informação, ética e linguagem” (Coleção Estudos em Ciência da Informação; 3). A leitura do conjunto permitirá uma compreensão mais adequada das perspectivas realistas e relativistas da informação, embora estas classificações não sejam sempre as mais adequadas para abarcar a complexidade das contribuições dos diversos autores."
