Abstract
This paper looks at how the Mi'kmaw Nation can grow stronger by being part of trade and business. It explains that real reconciliation means more than apologies—it means respecting Mi'kmaw rights and letting Mi'kmaw people lead in areas like trade and the economy. The paper shares examples like the Mi'kmaw communities buying part of Clearwater Seafoods. It also calls on Canada to follow treaties, include Indigenous voices in trade decisions, and support Mi'kmaw businesses. True reconciliation will happen when the Mi'kmaw Nation is treated as an equal partner in Canada and the world.
