Abstract
Le texte présente les principales problématiques abordées par l'anthropologie de la consommation. Après avoir cité quelques précurseurs, venant notamment de la sociologie de la première moitié du 20ème siècle, l'article s'arrête sur la spécificité des apports des anthropologues à partir des années 1970 notamment dans l'étude de la consommation comme opération cognitive pour donner forme à la culture, dans l'analyse des modes d'appropriation d'objets, de la tension entre uniformisation et patrimonialisation, mondialisation et usages situés, dans la définition de la marchandise et les modes de sa certification, dans la place du corps dans les usages des biens marchands. Nous rappelons également les évolutions récentes des débats sur la consommation en lien avec les nouvelles préoccupations environnementales, les crises économiques, l'appel à la décroissance et à la consommation éthique ou engagée.
