Neste texto são avaliadas as adaptações da Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC) nas referências curriculares de três estados do Nordeste brasileiro, Maranhão (MA), Ceará (CE) e Rio Grande do Norte (RN), com foco no componente Ensino Religioso. É um exercício de sociologia do currículo que busca levar em consideração as discussões mais recentes em teoria do currículo, sem perder de vista as especificidades do componente em questão. Elas terminam por deixar a crítica um pouco menos severa que outras já realizadas sobre a BNCC. Mas o exercício leva a um questionamento a respeito da clareza a respeito de quem são as pessoas que definem o que deve ser ensinado nas aulas de Ensino Religioso e como. Também identifica reiterações, ampliações e adições que são significativas no currículo e fomentam oportunidades de aprendizagem, mas que foram redigidas sem muita especificidade para cada estado selecionado, de forma que poderiam ser contribuições de qualquer outro.
