Héritier de deux grandes lignées de djeli (griots d’Afrique de l’Ouest) spécialistes de la kora, Ballaké Sissoko propose en 2025 les fruits d’une expérience professionnelle riche de 45 années. Cette longévité artistique, l’enfant de Bamako l’a cultivée d’abord dans sa famille selon la tradition séculaire mandingue, puis au contact de musiciens de différentes cultures rencontrés lors de multiples tournées à travers le monde, enfin dans le havre professionnel français où l’écoute attentive de partenaires sensibles a laissé le champ libre à son génie de la composition, jamais figée sur le papier.
