Deserción en una Universidad del Sureste Mexicano, Valoración de las Causas

Abstract
La deserción escolar es una problemática que se presenta en diferentes niveles educativos, en ésta intervienen distintos factores que influyen: académicos, familiares, sociales, económicos, de salud, entre otros; éstos impactan de manera importante en la permanencia de los estudiantes. Para las Instituciones de Educación Superior (IES) es un fenómeno que debe ser atendido con responsabilidad, mediante el diseño de estrategias educativas que permitan brindar el egreso oportuno de los estudiantes. Esta investigación tiene como objetivo valorar las causas de deserción escolar, mediante la identificación de los factores con mayor frecuencia que se presentan en los estudiantes de una IES, en el sureste mexicano; con el fin de generar recomendaciones para disminuir la frecuencia de este fenómeno. La metodología utilizada fue con enfoque cuantitativo, definiendo el universo a estudiar como alumnos de octavo y noveno cuatrimestre (mayo-agosto 2025) de programas de Licenciatura en: Gestión de Negocios y Proyectos, Innovación de Negocios y Mercadotecnia y Contaduría (110); se determinó una muestra de 29 alumnos, utilizando distribución de t-Student, los resultados obtenidos mostraron que algunos de los factores que contribuyen a la deserción escolar corresponden: a la reprobación, modelo educativo, problemas familiares y falta de apoyos económicos (becas) por la universidad.
