Abstract
Résumé Les personnes ayant survécu à un cancer infantile peuvent être confrontées à vie à des risques en matière de santé. Dans cette étude, nous décrivons la prévalence du cancer infantile au Canada par type, zone géographique, année, groupe d’âge et sexe, à l’aide des données publiques disponibles dans l’outil de données Cancer chez les jeunes au Canada (CCJC). En 2021, 4 325 personnes de moins de 20 ans ayant reçu un diagnostic de cancer au cours des cinq années précédentes étaient encore en vie. La prévalence à 5 ans normalisée selon l’âge a augmenté de 12 % au cours des 15 dernières années. La leucémie est le cancer infantile le plus répandu. L’outil de données CCJC fournit des statistiques de surveillance en santé publique complètes et à jour permettant de comprendre le fardeau que représente le cancer infantile.
