Perkembangan teknologi yang sangat pesat mengharuskan kurikulum dan keahlian siswa juga harus mengikuti perkembangan tersebut dengan baik termasuk di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) Telkom Bandung. Pada kegiatan ini, sistem monitoring jarak jauh berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) digunakan dan dapat diakses melalui ponsel. Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) Telkom Bandung memiliki program studi Teknik Jaringan Komputer dan Telekomunikasi (TJKT), yang visinya adalah mempersiapkan siswa menghadapi revolusi digital dan memanfaatkan teknologi untuk masa depan yang lebih baik. Pengenalan teknologi IoT dengan perangkat seperti Arduino telah diajarkan di SMK untuk mendukung visi ini. Tim dosen dan mahasiswa Telkom University membuat modul, perangkat dan memberikan workshop tentang pembuatan alat berbasis IoT yang dapat memonitor suhu, kelembaban, kelembaban tanah, dan sensor gerak melalui ponsel sebagai bagian dari program pengabdian masyarakat. Peserta aktif terlibat dalam kegiatan ini dan memberikan feedback positif, menciptakan kesan inovatif yang baik. Kegiatan serupa diharapkan dapat terus dilakukan untuk mendukung pendidikan vokasi.
