Abstract
This section of the 17th edition provides the names and addresses of over 15,000 philosophers in Africa, Asia, Australasia, Europe, and Latin America. Most of the information for these listings is derived from the Universities section of this edition. This section also includes names and addresses for other philosophers—independent scholars with a graduate degree in philosophy; philosophers who are teaching outside of a philosophy department; and philosophers affiliated with a philosophical center, society, publisher, or journal. Listings for these individuals include address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail address, web site, and areas of philosophical specialization. Information about philosophical activity in the U.S. and Canada was published separately in the Directory of American Philosophers.
