Abstract
Depuis les années 1970, le corps de l’enseignant·e et la façon dont il contribue à l’action pédagogique suscitent un intérêt croissant dans la recherche en éducation. De nombreuses études soulignent l’apport des gestes manuels dans les apprentissages scolaires, mais peu se sont intéressées à leurs usages dans les pratiques de classes. Dans cette enquête, nous ciblons la place accordée aux gestes pédagogiques dans les classes de maternelle, 40 ans après les travaux princeps de Calmy-Guyot (1973). Nous avons observé que ces gestes font davantage partie des pratiques de classe déclarées, bien que le degré de la conscience de l’usage reste hétérogène et le besoin de formation, prégnant.
