Design and Optimization of a Hybrid Metamaterial Configuration for Broadband Aircraft Noise Absorption (200-1000 Hz).
Bibliographic record
Abstract
This paper presents the development of a novel metamaterial configuration to address broadband aircraft cabin noise within the frequency range of 200 Hz to 1000 Hz. The proposed assembly integrates structured material configurations, Helmholtz resonators, and quarter-wave resonators into a compact and efficient system. Analytical modeling using the Transfer Matrix Method (TMM) is combined with numerical simulations to evaluate and optimize the acoustic performance of the design. The results highlight the complementary interaction between the resonators and the structured elements, enabling effective sound absorption across the targeted frequency range. The configuration achieves a high level of noise attenuation while maintaining a maximum thickness of 100 mm, in compliance with the design constraints for aircraft interior applications. The combined use of TMM and numerical analysis provides valuable insights into the physical mechanisms driving the absorption performance and ensures the design's feasibility for industrial applications. This study demonstrates the potential of advanced acoustic metamaterials in addressing critical noise challenges in aircraft, contributing to enhanced passenger comfort and environmental compliance. The findings highlight the importance of integrating analytical and numerical approaches to optimize metamaterial designs in aerospace applications.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
