Abstract
Rapprocher sans faire d’anachronisme le concile de Nicée du Synode sur la synodalité tient du pari. Dix-sept siècles séparent les deux événements qui, non seulement se déroulent dans des contextes socio-historiques différents, mais qui diffèrent par leur procédure, le nombre de leur participants, leur provenance, etc. Et pourtant, bien que représentant des figures historiques différentes, les deux réalités peuvent être rapprochées si l’on considère que l’une et l’autre représentent des formes d’expression de ce que l’on appelle la synodalité dans laquelle est mise en cause la réunion en une même assemblée du peuple Saint dans toute sa variété et sa diversité, convoquée et présidée par un protos, réunie dans l’Esprit Saint, dans l’écoute de la Parole de Dieu ou rassemblée autour de l’Évangile, participant à une action commune, à la gloire de Dieu. Ainsi, suivant des modalités différentes s’exprime ce qu’est l’Église: la communion du saint peuple de Dieu.
