Abstract
Durant les années 1930, les scientifiques francophones du Québec publient peu de recherches en sciences naturelles. Pour remédier à cette situation, en 1942, des professeurs de l’Université de Montréal lancent la Revue canadienne de biologie. Dans cet article, nous retraçons la mise en place d’un périodique dont les pratiques éditoriales sont en adéquation avec les exigences du champ scientifique. Puis, nous analysons le processus de positionnement disciplinaire du périodique, ainsi que les tiraillements propres à l’émergence d’un lieu de pouvoir éditorial. Enfin, nous examinons l’impact de la prise en charge de la revue par les Presses de l’Université de Montréal sur le processus éditorial, notamment sur les pratiques d’évaluation par les pairs.
