Abstract

Depuis 2018, le Cercle Kinistòtàdimin (CK) de l’École de travail social (ÉTS) de l’Université d’Ottawa oeuvre à décoloniser l’ÉTS et ses programmes d’études. La présente analyse autoréflexive s’appuie sur la reconnaissance d’une pluralité/diversité de savoirs et l’adoption formelle, en mars 2022, d’une résolution relative aux savoirs traditionnels autochtones afin d’assurer leur intégration à l’ÉTS et garantir une formation holistique respectueuse des apprenants et Nations autochtones. À l’aide de deux demi-journées d’études, un cercle de parole tenu à Kitigan Zibi et de notes de planification stratégique, les auteurs du présent article situent le rôle et les responsabilités des alliés non autochtones au coeur de la discussion. La Charte de responsabilités des alliés de Gehl (2012) permet d’interroger les avenues souhaitables et les attitudes à proscrire. L’article conclut sur les prochains pas des initiatives de décolonisation en cours à l’ÉTS. À la demande d’un porteur de savoirs traditionnels anishinabe-algonquin actif au CK et grâce à la récente évolution législative en vertu de la Loi concernant les enfants, les jeunes et les familles des Premières Nations, des Inuits et des Métis (ci-après, « LEJFPNIM »), un nouveau microprogramme (9 crédits) en enfance-famille autochtone 1 est offert depuis septembre 2024.
