Abstract
Cet article se concentre sur le sexe, le genre et la sexualité dans l’oeuvre de Julie Doucet, plus précisément sur divers phénomènes liés à ce que j’appelle la transtextualité, qui désigne les changements de sexe/genre survenant par la seule magie du texte. En effet, l’oeuvre doucettienne est peuplée de personnages féminins qui perdent leurs seins, d’autres qui se voient pousser un pénis, qui deviennent parfois des hommes mais pas toujours, et de personnages masculins qui se font couper la verge ou qui se voient attribuer un sexe féminin. Cela parfois dans une contexte de violence, que le monde caricatural, grotesque et onirique de Doucet dédramatise cependant. Aussi peut-on lire ces effets transtextuels comme un commentaire sur les multiples troubles dans le genre que nos sociétés connaissent.
