Abstract
Cette étude centre l’analyse de la solidarité Québec-Chili sur les voyages d’observation que la société civile québécoise organisa au Chili de l’Unité Populaire entre les années 1970-1973. Au-delà de l’admiration que plusieurs portaient à la figure présidentielle de Salvador Allende, les acteurs sociaux qui font l’objet de cette étude s’intéressaient d’abord et avant tout à la vigueur des mouvements ouvriers et populaires chiliens. L’enquête démontre la diversité et l’étendue des liens qui ont uni des secteurs populaires chiliens à des mouvements sociaux et populaires de l’Amérique du Nord. Ce faisant, elle contribue à mettre en lumière certaines conditions d’émergence de la solidarité Québec-Chili qui fut mise sur pieds rapidement à la suite du coup d’État militaire du 11 septembre 1973.
