Abstract
Christina Bechers Studie analysiert pflanzlich-menschliche Hybridwesen in deutschsprachiger Literatur und grafischen Erzählformen des 20. und 21. Jahrhunderts. Ausgehend von vier Primärtexten—zwei Science-Fiction-Romanen des frühen 20. Jahrhunderts und zwei Comics der 2010er Jahre—untersucht Becher die erzählerischen Strategien, mit denen Hybridität, pflanzliche Agency und zeitspezifische Krisen verhandelt werden. Ihre interdisziplinäre Herangehensweise verbindet literatur- und comicwissenschaftliche Analyse mit kulturgeschichtlicher Kontextualisierung und botanischem Exkurs. Die Studie leistet damit einen innovativen Beitrag zum Ecocriticism und den Literary and Cultural Plant Studies, der auch für andere literatur- und naturwissenschaftliche Disziplinen interessant sein könnte. Diese Rezension hebt insbesondere die klare Sprache, die zugängliche Struktur sowie die detaillierten Close Readings hervor, zeigt aber auch kleinere Schwächen im Stil auf.
