O brincar como atividade promotora de qualidade na Educação de Infância

Abstract
O brincar como atividade constituinte das crianças é inegável, e provam-no observações diretas em qualquer cenário social, cultural ou geográfico. Esta é uma prerrogativa própria do ser humano, durante a sua vivência da infância. Se olharmos para um parque ao ar livre, ou para um campo de refugiados, para uma sala de jardim de infância em momentos não prescritos de atividade ou para qualquer outro espaço em que as crianças tenham liberdade de escolha, a brincadeira é manifesta; ela constitui a forma mais peculiar de a criança interagir com os outros e com as situações, logo, a presença da mesma no quotidiano do jardim de infância é critério básico de qualidade na educação de infância, contribuindo, substancialmente, para a construção da equidade ao considerar as múltiplas infâncias coexistentes nas instituições educativas. Discutiremos aqui a pertinência do brincar em jardim de infância, tendo como objetivo principal refletir, com suporte teórico e com base na experiência, como tal se conjuga com a identidade própria destes contextos educativos, norteados por finalidades educativas definidas por referenciais legislativos e curriculares, bem como pelas representações sociais que existem face à frequência destes espaços. Procuramos com este texto contribuir para o aprofundamento do estudo sobre o brincar como atividade central na infância, bem como apoiar as profissionais no exercício de práticas reconhecedoras dos direitos das crianças.
