Dans les pays de l’Afrique francophone subsaharienne, dont certains ont servi de repères pour cette étude, l’égalité des sexes, manifestation de l’égalité des genres, a été intégrée timidement dans les politiques, initiatives et stratégies nationales au cours des dernières décennies. L’étude met en exergue des systèmes de prévention et de couverture nationaux encore influencés par le genre ainsi qu’une inégalité économique des sexes, productrice d’une inégalité de couverture contre les risques professionnels. Si les régimes de prévention restent sensibles à la question du genre malgré leur vétusté, il semble qu’un recentrage de la responsabilité de l’État et des partenaires sociaux soit nécessaire.
