Abstract
In this panel proposal, we thus discuss the potential of integrating strategy-as-practice and organizationality. More generally, the relationship between strategy-making and organizationality poses questions whether the more something is organized, the more ‘likely’ it is for strategizing to happen; or whether the more strategizing happens in a certain context, the more something becomes organizational. Empirically, this poses questions such as how (the effectiveness of various) strategy-making practices change depending on the degree of a collective’s organizationality. For example, strategizing within social movements, networks or meta-organizations faces very different challenges when compared to more traditional formal organizational settings, including unclear and constantly changing boundaries as well as lack of hierarchical structures or formal-hierarchical leadership.
