Dans le cadre du projet Kwe l’Université!, une initiative visant à soutenir la persévérance et la réussite des étudiants autochtones à l’université, un profil de compétences du métier d’étudiant a été élaboré. Cette démarche répond à un besoin identifié : peu de référentiels s’attardent de façon explicite aux compétences du métier d’étudiant, particulièrement en contexte autochtone. L’élaboration de ce profil, réalisée entre 2019 et 2025, s’est appuyée sur une approche rigoureuse combinant l’analyse de référentiels existants, une revue des travaux portant sur la persévérance scolaire en milieu autochtone, ainsi que des consultations auprès d’étudiant·e·s autochtones et des chercheur.e.s et professionnel.le.s issues des milieux autochtones et allochtones. Le profil de compétences, inspiré de la Roue de médecine, est structuré autour de quatre rôles de l’étudiant·e : collaborateur·trice, communicateur·trice, organisateur·trice et stratège réflexif·ive. Intégré dans la Roue de l’apprentissagede Kwe l’Université!, le profil guide la conception de cours prenant en compte les réalités autochtones et permet aux étudiant·e·s de documenter leurs apprentissages dans un portfolio évolutif. Il contribue également à un accompagnement personnalisé par l’équipe d’encadrement de Kwe l’Université! afin de soutenir l’engagement des Autochtones dans leur parcours universitaire.
