Abstract
Abstract: Sophocles’ Electra 379–82 contain allusions to passages in Antigone , the Oresteia , and the Odyssey involving the tyrannical suppression of politically inconvenient voices. The reverberations of these allusions throughout Electra add depth and scope to the representation of the conflict among Electra, Aegisthus, and Clytemnestra, calling particular attention to the political valence of Electra’s lamentation and the tyrants’ plan to imprison and silence her. Abstract: Les vers 379–82 de l’ Électre de Sophocle contiennent des allusions à plusieurs passages de l’ Antigone , de l’ Orestie et de l’ Odyssée où des tyrans étouffent certaines voix politiquement incommodantes. Les réverbérations de ces allusions tout au long de l’ Électre renforcent la profondeur et l’horizon du conflit entre Électre, Égisthe et Clytemnestre en attirant particulièrement l’attention sur la valence politique des lamentations d’Électre et sur le projet qu’ont les tyrans de l’emprisonner pour la faire taire.
