Abstract
En 1640-1641, Paul Roussel, graveur et imprimeur en taille-douce, prend en apprentissage trois jeunes gens pour leur enseigner l’impression. L’un de ces apprentis, Antoine Moreau, est le neveu, orphelin, d’un imprimeur libraire. Venant du même village du Perche que Moreau, c’est certainement par son intermédiaire que Michel Cléreau arrive chez Roussel : orphelin lui aussi, il est présenté par un prêtre qui y voit certainement œuvre de charité. Ce même prêtre présente ensuite Jacques Gaillot, originaire de Nancy, à Roussel. Ces trois exemples éclairent les réseaux amicaux, géographiques et religieux à l’œuvre dans le choix d’une carrière dans la taille-douce.
