Abstract
Abstract This article focuses on how the Ski Like a Girl research project began with historical praxis and serves community knowledge mobilization to encourage social critique and discussion of winter sports among women and girls. It examines how social history and public history were combined as an integral spiral of scholarship, with public intellectuals serving communities based on a liberal arts approach that situates the university amid civil society. We argue that women's ski stories are important to public history and to the work of historians in knowledge mobilization for Canadians to serve the people and democracy.
