Linear-optics time-frequency analysis of complex multi-THz-bandwidth waveforms from a single optical spectrum
Bibliographic record
Abstract
The analysis of sophisticated ultrabroadband (multi-THz bandwidth) optical waveforms is essential for many advanced applications, yet current techniques are limited, energy-inefficient, and/or often require multiple spectral measurements. Here, we propose and experimentally demonstrate a simple linear-optics technique for measuring the joint time-frequency distribution of such waveforms. The technique relies on energy-efficient linear phase-only manipulations to map the waveform's short-frequency Fourier transform (SFFT) onto a single optical spectrum. The proposed architecture, involving temporal dispersion and electro-optic phase modulation, has no intrinsic analysis-bandwidth limitation; it is constrained only by the usable span of practical photonic components. Using this approach, we demonstrate the characterization of intricate waveforms spanning up to 11 THz over nanosecond durations, corresponding to ultrahigh time-bandwidth products exceeding 16,000.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
