Abstract

Agnese Galeffi (1974–2025) was a significant figure in Italian librarianship. She made substantive contributions to cataloging theory, particularly her studies on Seymour Lubetzky. She studied at the University of La Sapienza in Rome and completed her doctorate at the University of Udine. She taught cataloging and classification at the Vatican Library School (2007–2017) and then held a librarian position at the University of La Sapienza where she was responsible for the catalog. She was active nationally and internationally. She was a member of the IFLA Cataloguing Section Standing Committee and editor of the 2016 edition of the International Cataloguing Principles.
