Abstract
L’article porte sur l’établissement et sur l’activité des « Messagères de la victoire ». À Trois-Rivières, de 1942 à 1947, sous l’impulsion d’Anaïs Allard-Rousseau et de deux organismes issus de l’Action catholique (comité diocésain de la Ligue catholique féminine, Jeunesse indépendante catholique), ce service féminin de correspondance a multiplié les initiatives pour entretenir des liens et soutenir le moral des soldats originaires de la ville alors mobilisés. À partir de cette initiative locale que nous replaçons dans une perspective plus globale, l’article propose une lecture de l’aide apportée aux troupes durant la guerre. Il la replace dans ses réseaux, ses logiques de sociabilité, ses réalités associatives, ses dynamiques éducatives ou religieuses. Il dresse ainsi un portrait renouvelé de la société canadienne-française. L’article s’intéresse notamment à sa structuration, aux rapports et assignations de genre et de pouvoir dans les familles ou en son sein, ainsi qu’à l’encadrement de sa jeunesse directement mobilisée ou au service de l’effort de guerre national.
