Abstract
The nature and components of the stabilization of the socio-political situation in Cossack Ukraine are analyzed as prerequisites for the restoration and development of the Hetmanate in the last quarter of the 17th – at the beginning of the 18th century. In particular, the influence of foreign policy factors on stability in Ukraine is established, and the ways in which the Hetman government mitigated the possible destructive consequences of external influence through relevant political and legal initiatives are reconstructed. In the context of analyzing the internal Ukrainian circumstances of the stabilization measures of the Hetman government, detailed consideration is given to the political steps taken to develop early modern estates-based democracy, reviving in the consciousness of the Cossack elite the value of the collective will of the Zaporozhian Host as an imperative norm for making important state decisions and overcoming the destructive influence of ochlocratic sentiments. The logic behind the Hetman government's actions in the field of economic policy is being clarified, primarily the establishment of new land relationships, as well as the formation of new social relationships.
