Abstract
La musique occitane contemporaine, qui commence à prendre une dimension commerciale à la fin des années 1960, notamment par le biais de la Nòva Cançon Occitana, s’est construite entre héritage traditionnel et modernité. D’abord ancrée dans la protestation politique et la revitalisation de la langue d’oc, elle s’est diversifiée à partir des années 1980, intégrant des influences variées (reggae, rap, world music) pour toucher un public plus large. Si les hommes dominent souvent la scène, les femmes – de Françoise Dague à Alidé Sans, en passant par les groupes polyphoniques comme La Mal Coiffée ou Cocanha – y ont marqué leur présence, notamment dans la chanson traditionnelle et la polyphonie, tout en y apportant une dimension féministe et militante. Ce panorama révèle une création musicale à la fois enracinée et ouverte, où la défense de la culture occitane reste un fil conducteur.
