Abstract
En raison des pratiques colonialistes, les relations entre les populations autochtones et les musées sont tendues. En ce moment, dans les musées, plein d’objets ne sont pas documentés, et leurs origines, pas reconnues. En outre, plusieurs de ces objets sont fabriqués par des femmes et des enfants autochtones. Cet article est fondé sur trois poupées issues d’une collection qui a été récupérée d’un pensionnat religieux basé dans les Territoires du Nord-Ouest (TNO). Ce texte s’appuie sur des recherches complétées auprès des musées locaux, dans les archives du Centre patrimonial Prince of Wales à Yellowknife (TNO), ainsi qu’à partir des poupées elles-mêmes, pour révéler une histoire innovatrice de l’économie et de l’esthétique culturelle du Nord canadien.
