Abstract
Extract Once a relentlessly progressive and life-shortening disease, cystic fibrosis (CF) is now entering the era of chronic care. The introduction of cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) modulator therapy more than a decade ago has transformed the care of people with CF, delivering remarkable gains in survival and quality of life. In more recent years, the triple combination elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor (ETI) has rapidly become the standard of care for genetically eligible people with CF, producing further improvements across nearly every clinical endpoint, including respiratory symptoms, lung function, exacerbation and transplant rates, nutritional status, quality of life, and mortality [1].
