Ce récit de pratique attire l’attention sur la valeur des collaborations transdisciplinaires pour favoriser l’innovation pédagogique en illustrant comment la pédagogie de l’enseignement supérieur peut s’inspirer des principes de la permaculture pour repenser les approches et les espaces d’apprentissage. Il présente un projet collaboratif interuniversitaire et participatif (de type par et pour les personnes étudiantes) plaçant la philosophie permaculturelle à la confluence de l’éducation relative à l’environnement et du travail écosocial. Le projet a permis à cinquante personnes étudiantes de premier cycle en travail social d’expérimenter l’approche permaculturelle dans la conception et l’aménagement d’espaces de vie, d’intervention professionnelle et d’apprentissage. En associant cette approche à une démarche participative, sous la forme d’un laboratoire vivant, les personnes étudiantes ont développé leur sensibilité aux interconnexions qui existent entre le bien-être humain et celui des écosystèmes, et à porter une attention renouvelée à leur environnement.
