Abstract
This paper presents a vegetation model that is derived from physically based rendering techniques used in computer graphics. The method uses the Radiative Transfer Equations (RTE) to treat vegetation as a participating medium, which describes the different types of vegetative scattering as distinct processes. The total power is then calculated using a Monte Carlo integration technique, which will allow the model to be easily integrated with other scattering objects. The proposed method is then demonstrated using a numerical example.
