Abstract
High Resolution Image Download MS PowerPoint Slide Autoimmune diseases represent a group of disorders in which the immune system mistakenly attacks the body’s cells. Psoriasis is one of the complex autoimmune skin conditions, characterized by aberrant immune activation and hyperproliferation of keratinocytes, leading to inflammation and plaque formation. Conventional treatments suffer from limited efficacy, systemic side effects, and the need for frequent administration. Recent advancements in nanomedicine offer transformative potential in overcoming these challenges and their translation into clinical use. Nanocarriers─such as polymeric-, metal-, organic-, and lipid-based therapies─have enhanced efficacy and targeted delivery while minimizing toxicity. This review examines the immunopathology and epigenetic regulation of psoriasis within the broader context of autoimmune diseases, and analyzes current nanotechnology-based therapies. The focus is on how nanomedicine strategies improve and advance personalized and precision medicine for psoriasis.
