Abstract
This paper revolves around a reclaiming of “glitch,” exploring the ways disabled feminists inhabit glitch as a mode of intimacy and an embodied theory of cripped technology. This research reorients Legacy Russell’s concept of “glitch feminism” towards disability justice by investigating the unintended intimacies that can be enabled by glitches—both labor and affective connections—and the complex relationship between pain, survival, risk, and technology. This article draws together glitching bodies, brains, hardware, software, and Wi-Fi routers in a nuanced investigation of crip/queer/feminist networks.
