Abstract
Cet article examine le caractère controversé des infrastructures de captation audiovisuelle s’inscrivant dans le paradigme de la ville intelligente, au travers de cas situés à Toronto (Sidewalk Toronto) et à Montréal (Laboratoire numérique urbain). C’est à partir de l’approche théorique des études critiques des données que nous démontrons comment le caractère controversé entourant l’utilisation d’infrastructures de captation dans ces contextes oriente leur devenir. La comparaison de ces cas illustre comment l’ambiguïté entourant l’usage de ces données dilue les controverses et neutralise les débats publics.
