Abstract
This analysis of Han Kang’s The Greek Class attempts to delve into the deeply entrenched Asian idiosyncrasy, particularly Korean, that animates the work. To this end, after contextu- alising the general features of the work within the frame of the author’s literary production, it considers Han Kang’s singular humanism, the intercultural dimension in the text, and the calligraphic aesthetics that distill the comprehension and reflection on the letters and signs on which the narrative dwells again and again. This set of features enables the placing of the work on the coordinates of a new women’s and cosmopolitan literature of the first quarter of the 21st century, which goes beyond traditional Western postulates and canon.
Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.
