Abstract
Jaroslav Šidak, povjesničar i sveučilišni profesor, jedna je od najvažnijih figura u domaćoj historiografiji. Započeo je s radom tijekom Drugoga svjetskog rata, u Nezavisnoj Državi Hrvatskoj, a nastavio u socijalističkoj Jugoslaviji. Ovaj rad, nastao na temelju analize i interpretacije 40 stranica dosjea UDB-e, tematizira proces u kojem su jugoslavenske tajne službe pratile Jaroslava Šidaka od završetka rata pa sve do sredine 70-ih godina. Šidakov slučaj predstavlja obrazac života nepartijskog pojedinca, stručnjaka u sustavu partijske kontrole koja je imala razne intenzitete i učinke na sveučilišta, profesore, studente. Rad nastoji doprinijeti raspravi o tim problemima, ali i poslužiti kao početak analize odnosa utjecaja sustava na sadržaj i narav znanstvenog rada, te načine otpora pojedinca/ znanstvenika tom utjecaju.
