Renart le Contrefait est un roman du xive siècle très volumineux, qui compte environ 32 000 vers dans sa rédaction initiale. À ce jour, deux versions nous en sont parvenues : la rédaction A (Paris, BnF fr. 1630), rédigée entre 1319 et 1322, et la rédaction B (Paris, BnF fr. 370), écrite entre 1328 et 1342.
