Abstract

Situe dans une zone peu documentee, le site de Dangeil au Nord-Soudan, a fait l objet d une fouille de sauvetage par une mission soudano-canadienne. A l est du site, comportant 13 koms, se situe une enceinte rectangulaire au centre de laquelle un kom imposant s est avere, suite aux fouilles, etre un temple d Amon en briques cuites, avec un parement de granit au niveau du sanctuaire. Le temple comporte les marques d une destruction suivie d un incendie qui pourrait etre contemporaine de la fin de l empire de Meroe au 4e siecle, toutefois un brule-parfum de style tardif suggere une nouvelle occupation post-meroitique. Parmi les elements recueillis dans le sanctuaire un bloc de gres comporte le cartouche de la reine Amanitore. Un sondage dans l axe du bâtiment a permis de decouvrir un pavement de briques cuites, flanque de deux mastabas, reliant l entree de l enceinte a celle du temple. Une operation de sauvetage a egalement ete effectuee dans un cimetiere meroitique voisin du temple.
