Abstract
Las tecnicas de imagen ayudan enormemente en la colocacion de las agujas y en la administracion de energia sobre la localizacion optima para lograr la maxima eficacia. Cuando existen estructuras vitales que dificultan el acceso a la lesion renal, su movilizacion laparoscopica puede favorecer el exito de la ablacion y reducir el riesgo de complicaciones. Los tratamientos ablativos son atractivos por su minimo impacto sobre la calidad de vida del paciente y por su morbilidad y coste. Aunque resultan prometedores, su eficacia todavia debe evaluarse con seguimientos a largo plazo antes de poder considerarse como un tratamiento oncologico estandar. Las masas renales pueden tratarse por via laparoscopica o percutanea dependiendo de la localizacion y el tamano del tumor, de la tecnologia disponible y de la experiencia de cada centro.
