Abstract
La evolucion de los cuidados paliativos en Espana ha sido simultanea con el desarrollo de la enfermeria en cuidados paliativos en los ultimos anos. La carencia de formacion pregrado y la falta de definicion de estandares y competencias especificas llevo a la Asociacion Espanola de Enfermeria en Cuidados Paliativos (AEACPAL) a definirse en estos temas. Para ello se baso en experiencias de otros paises como Canada, Reino Unido y EE.UU. Coincidiendo con la activacion del decreto de especialidades de enfermeria se propuso ademas que Enfermeria en Cuidados Paliativos fuera contemplada como un area de capacitacion especifica definida y con una descripcion competencial adecuada a las exigencias sociales y sanitarias actuales. En este sentido se propone un curriculo de enfermeria en cuidados paliativos con tres niveles de competencias: basico (pregrado), intermedio (formacion continuada) y avanzado (especializacion y postgrado).
