Abstract
The Societe de transport de Laval (STL - 750 employees) works in conjunction with the Societe de transport de Montreal (STM - 7500 employees) to provide quality public transit service in the Montreal region. When the STM inaugurated three new metro stations on Laval territory in 2007, a large number of public transit users of the STL's bus network then stopped using its services and directly headed to the STM's metro stations instead. This presentation explains how the STL's bus network, while actively contributing toward the success of the metro, succeeded in winning back the riders that it had lost to the metro
