Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

and Gallaudet College. Twentythree large residential schools scattered throughout the United States and Canada now have as their administrative heads, graduates of the normal department. Many others employ the normal department graduates as principals or head teachers of school departments. The largest percentage of the deaf graduates is engaged in the occupation of teaching the deaf, and in this they are particularly successful because of their own deep sympathy for their pupils and their desire to make their occupation a real life-work. Another field of great importance is that of the ministry to the deaf. Some 20 of the graduates of Gallaudet College are doing this work for various church denominations throughout the country and in a number of cities they have established churches built and maintained for the deaf residents. In chemistry, a third field which has attracted a number of deaf young men, their success has been outstanding, especially in work on rubber and steel, in oil analysis, and in the preparation of perfumes. One of the outstanding architects of the South is a graduate of Gallaudet College. With the foundation laid at Gallaudet many have done successful graduate work in universities of high standing, and the fields of agriculture, banking, insurance, law, printing, publishing, bacteriology, and dentistry have been entered with success by Gallaudet men. The women have largely devoted their time to the management of homes. Many have become teachers, some have entered the field of art, and a considerable number have made good at library or museum cataloging. A large number of the graduates are owners of homes and owners and drivers of automobiles. They are self-supporting, independent citiz ns, entering into the life of the communities in which they reside.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
