Abstract
The S-Traveler project is a test of possible digital certification of frequent travelers and identification of travelers that merit more scrutiny. The digital certificates could be extended to staff. Canada is designing a system to provide advanced information about all travelers entering the country. Another system provides one-stop checking of immigration documents when tickets are presented or reservations made. Australia used it in the 2000 Olympics with success. Questions remain about interoperability for universal deployment and who should pay-governments or industry.
