Im Februar 2010 fand der XIII. Internationale Strassenwinterdienst-Kongress des Welt-Strassenverbandes (PIARC) in Quebec (Kanada) statt. Traditionell wurde bei diesem in vierjaehrigem Turnus durchgefuehrten Kongress ein umfangreiches Vortragsprogramm geboten, begleitet von einer grossen Ausstellung, Felddemonstrationen und technischen Exkursionen. Ebenfalls zur Tradition gehoert, dass Erfahrungen und neueste Entwicklungen im gesamten Feld des Winterdienstes zwischen den Teilnehmern aus allen Teilen der Erde, in denen Winterdienst praktiziert wird, auf hoechstem Niveau ausgetauscht werden. Der Kongress leistet damit einen wesentlichen Beitrag zur Weiterentwicklung des Winterdienstes, die derzeit mit grossen Schritten vorangeht. Insbesondere die Nutzung modernster Informations- und Kommunikationstechnik fuer den Winterdienst ist hierbei von grosser Bedeutung, aber auch die Weiterentwicklung der Streutechnik und der Winterdienstgeraete. Der Beitrag berichtet von dem Kongress, wobei vor allem die aus deutscher Sicht wesentlichen Neuerungen und Entwicklungen aufgezeigt werden. (A) ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH: Traditionally there was a comprehensive programme of technical presentations, combined with a large exhibition, field demonstrations and technical visits in the area. On the Winter Road Congress which takes place every 4 years experts of countries with winter climate from all over the world meet and exchange experiences and newest developments in the field of winter maintenance on a high level. So the congress is very conductive to the further development of winter maintenance which is ongoing in great steps. Especially the use of newest communication technology but also the development of spreading techniques and winter maintenance equipment is very important. The paper gives a report from the Congress, especially dealing with the most important developments from German view. (A)
