A Pottery Assemblage from the North-Eastern Quarter at Apamea (Northern Syria): Preliminary Results

Abstract
This paper presents the preliminary results of the study of the Islamic pottery from \nthe North-Eastern quarter at Apamea, in Northern Syria. The area was intensely \nexcavated by the group of “Centre de Recherches Archéologiques” of the Université \nLibre de Bruxelles and brought to light an important bathroom complex, that was \nlater occupied as inhabited area during the Islamic period. \nThe analysis of the ceramic assemblage from this settlement provides a signifi cant \ncontribution, from a typological and chronological point of view, to our knowledge of \npottery productions of the 13th and 14th centuries from a rural settlement in Northern \nSyria and it allows to illustrate an usually underrepresented territory.
