Abstract
This article discusses how Prepare to Stop signs can help protect the dilemma zone, the distance in which a vehicle travels as a signal passes from green to yellow to red. This is also known as the area in which drivers must choose to either stop or proceed through the light before it changes to red. Also known as advance warning signs, they are now part of the Canadian toolbox. The article also discusses geometry, location and specifications for signs and controllers.
