Abstract
The article gives information on the status, prospects and problems of breeding plums and plums in the southern Urals. Presented promising varieties plums and plum institute with high economic-value traits and adaptation to the conditions of the Southern Urals. As a result, 80-year study found that the region has successfully cultivated varieties that are based on the Ussuri Plum and Canada. Selected a donor of agronomic traits, there are 36 varieties, including 4 varieties introduced in the State Register of Russia, 4 varieties submitted for state testing.For further breeding work highlighted four elite and 13 selected forms.
